Short Chronology


 

 

 

1954 Born Waterloo, Iowa to artist parents. Family moves to new Paltz, New York.
1956 Family moves to Philadelphia.
1971-1972 Lives in New Mexico. Studies privately with Leonard Lehrer.
Graduates high school.
1972-1976 Philadelphia College of Art
(now University of the Arts). Majors in illustration with minor studies in photography.
Receives BFA in illustration.
1976-1978 Freelances in Philadelphia making hand painted wooden signs. Supervises typography/photo lab at PCA (UArts).
1979 Moves to New York. Works as a production artist and then as an art director for advertising agencies and a cruise line. Travels on assignment to the Leeward Islands and Venezuela.
1983 Returns to Philadelphia. Works as a graphic designer and illustrator.
1989 Moves to Florida, raises three children. Directs a preschool. Freelances as a graphic designer and illustrator, teaches art classes privately and in public school.
2003 Begins making large paper maché sculptures after teaching a 3D class to
middle school students.
2005 Returns to Philadelphia.  Continues with sculpture work. Attends Moore College of Art and Design for digital media. Freelances in graphic design, photography, and PowerPoint presentations. Private tutoring in portfolio preparation. Conducts student workshops.
